Hasemer Materials Handling offers user-friendly spring balancer options in Australia that have a number of safety features, eliminating the chance of accidents – unlike the older spring balancer design which had limited safety provisions and were prone to operational hazards, industrial accidents and injuries.
When properly installed, the tool or piece of equipment becomes almost weightless for the operator, making it easier and safer to use. Able to support weights up to 180kg and with stroke lengths up to 2.5m, a retractable spring balancer from our suppliers can meet your needs.
Hasemer spring balancers are now available in a new closed body concept to ensure better safety.
HWF series balancers are fully enclosed and are provisioned with a body liner to prevent damage to the body.

The HWA spring balancer series is provisioned with wire arrest mechanism, which locks the drum pulley in case of tool disengagement. These balancers are available for capacity from 9 to 70 Kg and have all the feature of SWF balancers as well. These balancers are primarily used with welding guns and applications where chances of wire slitting or tool disengagement due to accidental failure are higher.

Prior to the safety initiatives and modifications undertaken, older retractable spring balancer designs had only limited safety provisions, meaning they were prone to operational hazards and industrial accidents leading to huge compensations.
Several safety features have been introduced into our new designed spring balancers while retaining all the existing safety features. Hasemer balancers have thus become more user-friendly, eliminating chances of accidents.
SAFETY PIN: Stops and locks drum pulley in the event of spring failure and thus prevents the fall of costly equipment and injury to the operator from a falling load.
ADDITIONAL EYE: For fixing secondary support chain remains.
1. ENCLOSED BODY
Some other branded spring balancers in Australia are supplied with openings both in the body and cover, causing an accidental crunch of operator’s fingers between the revolving drum and the body of the spring balancer. To prevent this occurring, side windows on the body and cover have been eliminated. This helps to reduce industrial accidents.
2. WIRE ARREST MECHANISM (SWA SERIES)
In the unfortunate event of accidental dislodging of the suspended weight, and breakage of the bottom hook / wire rope, the spring tension will pull back the wire rope. The Hasemer spring balancer mechanism will lock the last revolving drum pulley, and the wire rope assembly will be stopped with a maximum 20cm travel. This will prevent the whipping of wire rope assembly and avoid any injury to the operator or any other personnel in the vicinity.
3. BODY LINER
In order to prevent wear of the slot of the spring balancer body, a split type nylon liner for wire rope has been introduced in the Hasemer retractable spring balancer design. This liner can be removed and installed on-site without any need for dismantling of the wire rope. This will prevent wear of the costly body, resulting in overall savings and reduced production down time of equipment.
4. EASY ADJUSTMENT OF SPRING TENSION
In some other manufacturers’ and suppliers’ spring balancers, the worm gear box for adjusting the spring tension works in the horizontal axis. The gearbox position has been rotated through 90 degrees so that spring tension adjustment can be made by working in vertical axis. This will facilitate adjustment from ground level without any need to rise up to spring balancer hanging level. This reduces downtime, facilitates easy operation and reduces the chance of any mishap occurring whilst an operator rises to the level of the balancer.
5. WIRE ROPE REPLACEMENT WITHOUT DISMANTLING
A small slot is provided to facilitate removal and re-installation of the wire rope without any need for dismantling of the spring balancers. This reduces the downtime of the equipment.
Note: This feature is not available for long range spring balancers.
6. CONTAINERISED SPRING ASSEMBLY
No longer do you need to handle open springs which are difficult and dangerous to handle with sharp edges. All springs are now supplied in concealed containers for easy replacement. This means containerised springs accidents are avoided during maintenance and replacements of springs.
