Electric Chain Hoists, Wire Ripe Hoists, Vacuum Lifters, Portable Gantry Cranes, Workstation Cranes, Jib Cranes, Entertainment Control Systems, Manipulators, Spring Balancers, Crane Electrical Systems, Crane Kits, Manual Trolleys, Electric Trolleys, as well as Design and Engineering. We can also assist in keeping your crane and hoist systems in excellent operational order with quality original equipment manufacturers’ spare parts.
Hasemer Materials Handling is also able to provide Third Party Inspections, in accordance with Australian Standards AS 2550.1-2011. Under this Standard, clause 7.3.4 states, “each crane shall undergo a periodic third party inspection to provide independent advice on whether the level of maintenance and repairs are in accordance with this Standard.”
The independent feedback we provide analyses and reports on your crane’s current condition, maintenance adequacy and utilisation levels. Hasemer does not offer a “one size fits all” approach. Hasemer Third Party Inspections are tailored to your specific requirements and may include:
The most appropriate electric chain hoist depends upon how you plan to use the hoist, or what is termed “the hoist’s duty cycle”. This looks at the operating time of the hoist; how often it is being used per hour; how many hours per day or week, and the load being lifted.
Some hoists have a rated capacity but can only lift that load for a limited amount of time per hour. Others, such as the GIS Electric Chain Hoist, are built for heavy duty operations and can lift the same load many times more.
At Hasemer, we can help you in determining the most appropriate chain hoist, so ask us.
Selecting the right electric chain hoist for your application can be a confusing task with numerous choices including GIS, Demag, Hitachi, Kito, SWF, Liftket, Nitchi and so on.
All these hoists will perform the basic functions of lifting loads at various work rates and over various lift heights. Almost all models have single of dual speed versions enabling easier positioning of the load.
If you want to minimise maintenance costs, ensure that the hoist is working how you want when you want and have a safe workplace. The factors that need to be considered are:
The strength, capability and insulation of the motor will directly impact the hoist’s ability to lift loads near to its WLL, the length of operating time and the working life of the hoist. There are two key aspects to this question:
This measures the electric chain hoists’ ability to activate and deactivate its brake without causing excess wear on the chain hoist. An industry wide measure is the number of starts per hour. GIS Electric Chain Hoists have the best rating at up to 360 starts per hour. Some hoists can operate only up to a maximum of 180 starts per hour. These hoists are often less robust that the GIS chain hoist.
Our GIS Electric Chain Hoists are fitted with a range of safety features designed to protect your workers and equipment from damage or injury. Safety features include a double slipping clutch, a maintenance free braking system located on the drive shaft, emergency stop as standard, a low voltage pendant controller, fixed attachment of the chain to the hoist, geared limit switches, minimum 6:1 braking strength of chain, and sturdy aluminium construction. For a full list of the numerous safety features and designs of our GIS Electric Chain Hoists please speak with one of our lifting solution specialists.
The Ingress Protection Rating (IP rating) of the GIS Electric Chain Hoist is 55. This means that the hoist has limited protection against dust ingress, and protection against low pressure water jets in any direction. The higher the IP rating of the hoist, the better equipped the hoist is to operate in a wide range of environments, either interior or exterior. Lower rated hoists are more likely to result in increased wear and tear resulting in higher maintenance costs. It can be upgraded to IP 65.

The GIS Electric Chain Hoists, Trolleys and KB Crane system are imported from Switzerland. For over 50 years the GIS factory at Schotz in Switzerland has been producing quality lifting equipment.
In selecting a crane system there are three key factors that need to be considered:
You will need to consider your duty cycle to ensure you’re selecting the right electric chain hoist for your maintenance and longevity requirements. We can help you assess the best lifting solution for your requirements, which will help minimise the long term maintenance and replacement costs of the strain and wear on your electric chain hoist.
Hasemer Materials Handling distribute GIS Electric Chain Hoists, Trolleys and KB Crane Systems; GH Wire Rope Hoists and Crane Kits; Feltes Portable Aluminium Gantry Crane, Palamatic Lifting Equipment, and Hasemer Spring Balancers
